Dynamics GP Training
(all courses are taught using version 9)

General Ledger and System Manager-  $375

A basic overview of the Microsoft Dynamics GP Menu Task Bar is covered in the System Manager section of this course.  Attendees will learn to setup users and security, as well as review the automated company setup routine list.  We discuss basic functionality of general ledger drill downs, as well as advanced features such as allocation accounts, recurring batches, quick journals, mass entries and period end closing procedures.

Exercises are completed throughout the course to ensure students have hands on experience using the fundamentals being discussed.

Payables Management -  $225

Attendees will learn to set up and post invoices into the payables system. We cover batch check runs as well as entering and invoice and printing a check on the fly.  Special tasks such as voided checks, credit memos, handwritten checks, running aging reports and placing vendors on hold are discussed in detail.  Students are given the tools needed to research vendor accounts and transaction history using the system's highly acclaimed drill down features.

Receivable  Management-  $225

Attendees will learn to set up parameters in the receivables module.  We work through printing month end reports including customer statements in addition to learning to reprint an invoice from history.  Special tasks such as how to handle voided invoices, credit/debit memos, NSF checks and placing customers on hold are covered in detail. We continue the basics with cash receipts posting, aging customer balances and of course using the system's robust drill down features to research balance and transactional history.

FRx Report Writer -  $375

In this 7 hour course we look at the basics of using FRx. FRx allows you to expand your Microsoft Dynamics GP financial report writing power and quickly provide financial statements for various companies, departments or locations. In the course we cover how to format and setup the necessary building blocks of FRx - rows, columns and reporting trees. We also cover how to combine these building block elements to create various report catalogs.

Report Writer -  $375

Students will learn how to modify existing reports as well as reformat layouts and add or remove fields to reports. Students will also be able to create a new report from scratch, pulling data from any Microsoft Dynamics GP table into the report.  We also discuss the technical aspects of the Report Writer, such as where dictionaries are stored, how to share customized reports with other users, and how to identify which Microsoft Dynamics GP table is appropriate for a given report.  We discuss report restrictions and sorting options as well.

In the afternoon session of this class, we take our skill set to the next level of using this powerful tool. We learn how to create calculated fields, totaling fields, summary fields and array fields. We also practice linking additional tables into reports and creating new links not previously defined within Microsoft Dynamics GP. Finally, we discuss report planning and the report import features.

Inventory  - $225

In this 4 hour course, we cover the entire setup of the Inventory system including Item Maintenance, Item Classes, Item Site Maintenance, Item Account Maintenance, Price List Maintenance, Price List Options, Item Quantities Maintenance, Serial/Lot Tracking, Item Kit Maintenance, Stock Count Assignment/Setup and use.  We also review daily processing procedures such as entering adjustment and variance transactions, item costing transactions, batch entry, edit lists, stock count entry, posting transactions, and corrections.

Purchase Order Processing (POP)  - $225

In this 4 hour course we look at setup parameters and options with Purchase Order Processing and how the system integrations is structured between POP, Inventory and Sales Order Processing. Purchase Order entry for both stock and non-stock items is covered. Detailed line item drill downs are explained as well. The largest enhancement to the POP system, the POP to SOP link is discussed and demonstrated in detail. Receiving a purchase order with our without a vendor invoice is covered along with drop-shipments.

Sales Order Processing (SOP)  - $350

In this 7 hour course we discuss the setup, processing, and many options of Sales Order Processing. We begin with the setup screens, integration with other modules, document types, formats and numbering systems. SOP also has some light prospect tracking abilities which are discussed during setup. Much of the course time is spent in and around the daily processing tasks of quote/order/ invoice/return entry, document transfer, item information and drill downs, commission entry, posting accounts, user defined fields, document overrides, item quantity lookups and allocations, link with purchase order, serial / lot numbered items, kits and printing documents.  Sales taxes are also discussed in detail for both inventoried and non-inventoried items during the SOP setup and data entry.

Payroll  - $375

This 7 hour course will help familiarize Customers with the intensive setup processes within Payroll. Students will also go through a payroll run and generate checks for a small group of employees.  An overview of the vast reporting and inquiry capabilities and a discussion of period-end and year-end procedures will also be included.

Human Resources / Payroll  - $750

This comprehensive 2 day course will provide you with an in-depth view of the extensive functionality contained within the Human Resources and Payroll applications. Besides learning the functionality, you will also learn tips and techniques that can help make an implementation successful, and you will gain a thorough understanding of the HR and Payroll applications and their capabilities.   Students will also go through a payroll run and generate checks for a small group of employees.  An overview of the vast reporting and inquiry capabilities and a discussion of period-end and year-end procedures will also be included.

Fixed Assets  - $325

This full day course is dedicated to the Fixed Asset module and begins with a discussion of the module's integration with other parts of the system.  Like most Microsoft Dynamics GP modules, setup is the key to smooth running of the system - Fixed Assets is very setup oriented and accordingly, a great deal of time is spent here. The remainder of the course is dedicated to daily procedures of adding assets through the Payables Management system, depreciation calculations and reports, mass disposals and other changes, changing asset information during its useful life, and posting to other modules.

Bank Reconciliation / Explorer / Budgeting - $225

In this 4 hour course, students will learn to perform automated bank reconciliations within Microsoft Dynamics GP. Procedures on module setup, company checkbooks, bank transfers and other similar bank transactions are covered at length. Course exercises include a reconciliation of sample operating and payroll bank accounts. We spend some time on the Excel Budgeting tool which allows users to enter budget figures in Excel and import numbers back into Microsoft Dynamics GP General Ledger. Also discussed is the powerful Microsoft Dynamics GP Explorer, our online data query tool that links your Microsoft Dynamics GP data to Microsoft Excel and Word.

Dynamics GP Year End Procedures - $135

Annually we offer this 3 1/2 hour class.   You will learn how to close out the old year and start up the new year for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory, Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order and Fixed Assets.  You will also learn valuable tips and tricks to make your year end go smoothly.

Crystal Reports Training:

Crystal Report Writer I - $325

This 6 hour hands on course teaches the basics of creating a Crystal Report including formatting, record selection, sorting, grouping, subtotaling, use of the Report Expert, advanced text object manipulation, table linking, creating basic formulas, working with report sections, graphing, cross tab reports and dictionaries. Most students leave this course with the skills necessary to develop simple and intermediate level reports using Crystal Report Writer.  As always, this course qualifies for 6 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE).

Crystal Report Writer II - $325

This 6 hour hands on course teaches some of the more advanced topics in Crystal Reports including parameters, sub reports, working with report sections and objects, advanced formulas and functions, report alerts, charts and maps and advanced database concepts. Most students leave this course with the skills necessary to develop complex  reports using Crystal Report Writer.  As always, this course qualifies for 6 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE).

Citrix MetaFrame Administration$225

Attendees of the Citrix Administration course will learn to understand the basic differences of Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe products and how both work together. You will also get a basic understanding of how to administer your Citrix clients, this includes installing and configuring ICA Program Neighborhood, familiarizing yourself with Citrix Management Console, adding client printers, and configuring published applications. Students should have a basic understanding of what Citrix is and realize this class is not course designed for the CCA (Certified Citrix Administrator) exam.
